Here are just a few of the tools we use and have used in our business and that of our clients. Some of these products include referral links to affiliate sites. View our full disclosures and affiliations. We do not recommend products that we haven’t used or that have been highly recommended by a trustworthy source (and we’ll always disclose if we haven’t used it) – that’s our promise!

Website and Blogging Tools

• WordPress.org – Build your website and blog on the same platform, with the same look and feel. Use this link to host your website on your domain vs. wordpress.com. WordPress also has many free plugins that don’t require hard code skills. And, it’s free!
• WooThemes – Awesome free and paid wordpress themes. This website is powered by a customized WooTheme, these guys are great! Other themes that we have not used but have heard great things about are Frugal Theme and Thesis.
• Aweber – e-mail marketing and autoresponder service. We use this service here, but have also used Vertical Response and Exact Target.

WordPress Plugins

• All in One SEO Pack – This plugin helps you optimize your website for search engines (Search Engine Optimization). There are free and paid versions for commercial use.
• Scribe SEO – A great plugin and service that guides you when writing to optimize your website posts and pages. They now offer a web version.
• Ninja-Affiliate – This plugin allows you to efficiently track, manage and customize affiliate links.

Educational Resources

• Search Engine Academy of Oregon – If you want to learn search engine optimization and all of the latest best practices, this is a great training business located in Portland, Oregon.
• SEO Book – Another search engine optimization resource. They also have some free tools that help you with keywords, competitive research and ranking. Check them out!
• Third Tribe Marketing - This is a conglomeration of successful internet marketers, bloggers, and businesses that offer a subscription service providing access to interviews, lessons learned, community forum, etc.
• Copyblogger – A well known content writing website that provides copywriting and content marketing advice for website publishers. These folks also partnered to launch the Scribe SEO website.
• Problogger – Another well known website that helps bloggers add income streams to their blogs.
